My main aim of this article is for people to understand what makes a good blog. A blog is a place where you can write about absolutely anything, from your personal life to entertainment. There are a few steps to climb, before you can shout - 'Success'! Bookmark this page as you may want to come back to it when publishing you blog. Below are all the main steps required for publishing a powerfull, quality blog.
Choosing a Suitable Web Host
The first step you have to take, is choosing the right host for you. There are plenty of web host to chose from. Simply search on google for 'blog hosts'. I created my blog with

When choosing your host, there is 1 major factor you have to take in to consideration; Dont chose a host which you find too complicated to use. This is crucial, if you are a new blogger, you need a simple web host for you to start and build your foundation on.
Picking Your Blog Topic
Once you've sorted out your web host, you need to decide on a theme for your blog. A unique, niche theme which you think will attract the most possible viewers. When picking the right theme you have to make sure its something you know about, a topic that you specialize in e.g. a sports blog, a music blog.
Picking a theme you specialize in is just 1 option, you can also have a personal blog, where you write posts based on your life. This is more tricky; when writing about your personal life, you have to take in to consideration, if the viewers will be interested in your posts or not. Please dont take this personal but, lets face it, reading about someones personal life can be sometimes boring. This is the factor you have to consider, you have to write based on your most exciting and entertaining personal experiences.
Whatever theme you chose to base your blog on, im sure it will be great if you really think 'its the onw'!. This is the first major step your taking in creating your blog. The first step you take is the one you allways find hardest, but once that first major step is taken, believe me 'its easy'!

Picking the way you present you blog is easy, just go with what you think will be replicated as 'attractive' to your viewers. By now you should have already clarified a targeted group for your blog, if you haven't do it NOW 
Your targetet viewers will really be the pivotal point in chosing your blog look. If you are targeting the older viewers you would benifit in chose a very formal design, darker easy to read colours and also a smart well presented blog.
A lot of people go wrong when they reach this step, simply because they fuss too much about it and they end up with a blog with everything all over the place. I say 'just keep it tidy'. Feel free to observe my blog layout and of course surf for other blogs.

Writing Your Posts
Wrting the posts is really the main factor of a blog. Your posts covers 95% of your blog. Its what your viewers are surfing your blog for, they want quality posts to read for thier entertainment and value. I can bet that, when you get to this stage, you will think 'ohh, il just write my posts another day'. Its perfectly normal to think that, i know i did. But, believe me once you get started writing your post, you cant stop!
When writing your posts, you have to think in the minds of the reader; if you were the viewer, what would you want to see in the post your reading. The main factor is that make sure you dont doze off half way through you post; keep your viewer interested all the way through you post. When writing your posts make sure you dont go off in to too much detail, of course some detail is necessary, but too much can force your viewers away. Basically they'll get bored and move on.
Another very important factor is sticking to your post topic. If your topic is about websites your post has to relate to websites nothing else. Think about all the factors i have listed, before writing your posts. Remember Think in the minds of the reader.
Advertising Your Blog
Right, you've chose a host, chose your blog theme, picked your blog layout, wrote some posts, now all you have to do is get your blog out there! When advertising and promoting your blog, you have to decide on a budget. Are you going to spend money advertising or not, personally i advertise my blog for free. But, its not my blog its yours, so decide carefully what you want to do.
Once you've sorted the costs out, its time to get the ball rolling. The first step i would reccomend everyone in taking would be to submit your blogs in all major search engines. You can do this by clicking Here. Once, youv'e done that you have to open your mind, think off places to advertise your blog.
Advertise your blog by registering for forums, search for open directories on google where you can submit ur blogs, ask friends to exchange links for your blog and thiers.
